Coordinate dates with up to 30 people

So a big event is coming up, maybe a birthday, Christmas, an anniversary. Or maybe you would like to plan a get together with a bunch of friends, to play soccer, go to the cinema or play boardgames at home. The program that arises is one of coordination. How to you get anyone to agree on a date? While that is certainly not a problem for Christmas or other fixed dates, you still may like to know if the invited guests or people come to the party or event.

Select the Date is a free online service that you can use to coordinate events with up to 30 people. You do need to register an account at the website before you can start. This is a one time process that the operators of the service have integrated into the event creation.

Once you have entered the event information, you can add suggested dates to the event. In the last and final step, you add the email addresses of the people that you want to invite to the event. These will receive an email with a link they can use to select dates that they are available, or suggest other dates that are a better fit for them.

The service lacks an option to create a link pointing to the event instead which certainly would appeal to users who do not want to enter dozens of email addresses on the site. Not only do you have to do that one by one, but it is also a privacy issue that is best to be avoided.

Everyone is voting for dates then and it is up to the event creator to pick a final date for the event.

The service makes available apps for Android and iOS, which is definitely nice. It could use some polishing in terms of usability though, like the previously mentioned option to create an event link to share it on social networking sites or instant messengers.
